I posted on reddit about how I made a floorplan of my house in diagrams.net and a lot of people were interested, so I figured I'd do a quick writeup.
There are a handful of incredibly useful tools for this, but here are a few that really made this a breeze. I would consider them essential.
After that, I created a new layer for each room.

Then I went through layer by layer and added each room using Line items for solid walls and Dashed Line items to indicate there is no wall. I used the Door item for doors. I decided that the scale I would use would be 1 pixel for each inch. I ended up with something like this for each room.

I then added another layer called Labels just to give everything a text label.

Once I had each room created, I just dragged them around until it looked right. This means it isn't 100% accurate, but 99% is good enough.
Once you have your initial plan, the actual fun can begin. I created new pages at the bottom for things I wanted a map of. The one that I posted about on reddit was the electricity page, so I'll talk about that here.

The first thing I did was create a new layer called Floorplan, and a couple additional layers for parts of the floorplan I wanted to toggle.
